Twilight Photo Shoot Do's and Don'ts

How to Prepare for your Twilight Photo Shoot

Scheduling a twilight photo shoot means that you want your home to stand out amongst the sea of other homes for sale in your area. However, without proper preparedness all of this could easily go out the window!

Here are a few tips that we have put together through the years of doing twilight photo shoots

Do: Make sure the home has proper lighting.
One of the biggest advantages to a twilight shoot is the warm and inviting glow from the exterior window shots.

Don't: Have different style light bulbs throughout the home.
When the home has several different styles of lighting it creates an uneven picture and draws your attention away from the room itself.

Do: Remove sunshades from windows.
Showing the view that buyers will see from inside of the home will be a big selling point. This also allows for more light to show for the exterior glow shots mentioned above.

Do: Turn on all lights and turn off all ceiling fans.
As mentioned before, lighting is the most important part of a twilight and ceiling fans create distractions in the photos.

Do: Declutter all rooms.
Remove knick knacks, family photos, magnets from the fridge, shoes, toys, etc. While you don't want your home to look completely bare you also want it to look as clean and put together as possible.

Don't: Underestimate the power of staging.
You may have heard that a home with furniture will sell faster than an empty one. While a bunch of unnecessary and cluttered furniture could take away from the home there is a lot to be said about staging a home (whether professionally or virtually).
